Athletics training resumes this week. The coaches will be picking the Cross Country and Santry teams soon so all boys and girls are encouraged to attend training every Thursday. 5th and 6th Class pupils will get the chance to go to swimming this term. Permission slips must be brought back by Friday 15th Jan. Lessons will be on Thursday mornings and will start on Thursday 21st January.
We ahd a very special visitor last Thursday. Sam Maguire came to the school. Peter Elliot and Dublin football star James Mc Carthy brought the much sought after cup to the school. We were delighted to welcome them into the hall and even sang a few Dublin songs for them.
Junior and Senior Infant boys and girls have been taking part in golf lessons for the past few weeks. They’re having great fun! Who knows…the next Tiger Woods could be among the participants!!!
4th, 5th & 6th Classes have been taking part in Tag Rugby sessions for the past few weeks. Our school Athletics Team did really well at the annual competitions in Santry. We came back to Saggart with three medals. Well done to Seamus (6th Class), Eve (5th Class) and Bentley (4th Class). We’re already looking forward to next year.
Well done to all the children who were involved in the Four Corners Blitz on St Mary’s GAA pitch. The boys and girls played very well, but unfortunately didn’t win the much coveted cup. Thanks to Jim Marshall for organising a great day out 🙂
