On Wednesday the 21st February we had the first race of the Annual Primary Schools Cross Country Finals. This event has been running since 2010 and St. Mary’s are very excited to be taking part again this year.
This event is for children from 3rd -6th class. Each class group must run challenging distances, 3rd class run 300m, 4th class run 400m, 5th class run 500m and 6th class run 600m.Well done to all the boys and girls that competed today, we will be training hard and getting ready for the next event on March 14th.
On September 1st 2014 our new school opened. It is a 24 classroom school and is amazing!
Our ASD unit has expanded and we now have four special classes.
There are four different yards which the children play on at lunchtime.
We also have a fantastic new hall.
Our new library is under development and should be up and running in the New Year.
We have quite a few after school activities this year. They are:
Monday – GAA training for children from 3rd – 6th Classes
– Keyboard lessons (see office for details)
Wednesday – Soccer training for children from 3rd – 6th Classes
Thursday – Athletics training for children from 2nd – 6th Classes
Friday – Hip Hop dancing for all age groups
We have an after school Homework Club every afternoon after school (see office for details)
Children are starting swimming lessons in November 2014.
