Mr Fegan’s class have been developing their coding skills through hands-on, creative projects using Micro:bits, Move:Motor robots, and the Python Turtle block library.

With the Micro:bits, students learned how to write simple programs to control lights, display messages, and use sensors. They then moved on to programming Move:Motor robots, learning how to control movement, speed, and direction.

In tandem with this, the class explored Python Turtle blocks, where they used code to draw colourful digital art. By giving the turtle commands, students created shapes, patterns, and even their own unique designs. Using Code.org, students learned the fundamentals of coding through interactive puzzles and games. They practiced sequencing, loops, conditionals, and debugging while creating animations and simple games in block-based coding.
