Over the course of the past five weeks, the Green Schools committee have been very busy working on our current Green Flag theme of Travel. The Green Schools committee took part in a Clean Air workshop, facilitated by our Green Schools Travel Officer Julianne Pickard, as part of National Clean Air week. The committee members displayed great knowledge of how air pollution is created and came away with some valuable strategies on how to combat air pollution. A huge thanks to Julianne for facilitating the workshop and to all the Green School representatives who took part. Classes across the school also took part in an Air Pollution webinar, ‘Clearing the Air’, organised by NASA and An Taisce, in which students learnt about factors that amplify Air Pollution and how small changes can produce more sustainable outcomes.

The wider school community have shown fantastic support for our WOW days which have taken place each Wednesday, since the term restarted in November. Walk on Wednesday numbers peaked at 335 for the month of November. Thus far this month, the figures are very good with a record number of 347 children taking part in Walk on Wednesday today, the 11th December.
