This month, Ms. Delaney’s Senior Infant class became busy gardeners as we grew our very own cress seeds!

First, we placed soft, damp cotton wool into small containers. Next, we carefully sprinkled the cress seeds on top. Then, we placed them on the windowsill where they could get lots of light. We watered them a little each day and made sure to look after them carefully.

Over the next few days, we were so excited to see tiny green shoots begin to grow. We loved observing the changes and watching our cress grow taller and stronger each day.

In Literacy, we then wrote our own procedural pieces. We wrote about the materials we used and filled in the blanks to reveal the step-by-step process. We also drew a picture of what our seeds looked like after they sprouted.

Well done to all the boys and girls for their fantastic work and great gardening skills!
